What cookies we use
A cookie is a small file a site asks your browser to keep. GaugePick uses very few of them, and none for advertising.
Analytics
Google Analytics 4 (property G-JBB8FNF0C3) sets cookies so it can tell a returning visit from a new one and measure how pages perform. The result we see is aggregate: which articles get read, which do not, and roughly where readers are. Advertising features and Google Signals are switched off on this property.
Affiliate attribution
When you click through to a provider, that provider's own systems may set a cookie so they can attribute the visit to us and pay a commission. These cookies are set by them, on their domain, under their policy. We do not read them and they carry no information about you back to us.
What we do not use
- Advertising or retargeting cookies.
- Social media tracking pixels.
- Device fingerprinting or cross-site identifiers.
Managing cookies
Every major browser lets you block or clear cookies, and private browsing discards them on close. Google also publishes an Analytics opt-out add-on. The site is fully readable with all cookies blocked — nothing here depends on them.
